On May 26th, photographer Justin Kern will be back in town holding a one day workshop at the University of Chicago. You probably have seen many of the great photos from the University of Chicago over the last year. Justin was the guy that first introduced us to the photographic opportunities at the University. You can see some of his University of Chicago photos on his Flickr site. Justin is also one of the creators of the Windy Pixel blog. View those images, here. Since moving from Chicago to California, Justin has started a new blog, The Golden Sieve.

The workshop will begin at 8AM in Hutchinson Commons, where Justin will be teaching exercises to help with compositional focus. From there, the workshop will move out to the halls and exteriors of the University. After everyone has had their chance to practice these techniques, the group will reconvene at the commons to work on post-processing. Justin promises a photo competition with fabulous prizes and a Google group for collaboration among group members after the workshop. The cost of the workshop is $150. To sign up, email Justin at justinwkern@gmail.com.

This is a great opportunity to work with one of Chicago's most influential photographers of the past decade. I will be there. I hope to see you too.
