Adelaide Festival Theatre, 13 Feb 2012
Went to see Ronan Keating earlier this week. It wasn't a bad show but it wasn't the best one I've seen either. Sharon Corr (from The Corrs) was his supporting act and she was quite awesome. Unfortunately, just before the main act began, one of the hall security saw my camera and came to tell me that "professional cameras" were not allowed. I tried to explain that my 550D with my kit zoom is hardly a professional camera but there wasn't much point to it. So I had to put it away and wait until the last couple of songs (she was nice enough to suggest that if I took a few shots towards the end, "they" - I assume Management - probably wouldn't mind. I was quite bummed, frankly. A bit too many limitations everywhere. I am sure that a person with an iPhone in the front row would have been able to take way better pictures than me. If I wanted to take pictures for commercial use I wouldn't have been sitting in the top left corner of the theatre, would I. With my kit lens!
Oh well. This is one of the very few half-reasonable pictures I managed to snap. I like it because of the emotion in his face.
Life is a roller-coaster hey!
P.S. Average age of the crowd - 45-55! I suddenly felt like a spring chicken!!!
