The aging neon "Getmor Gas" sign near the intersection of Route 140 and Route 79 in Lakeville, Massachusetts. This isn't too far off my daily drive, and I've been meaning to shoot it for a while (I like fading Americana like this), so I stopped in on the way home today (and spotted another potential subject for a later 365 shot while I was at it).
Wanted to go for a "vintage" look with the processing; pretty happy with this, but it feels just a hair off. I tried overlaying some texture, but it seemed a little overdone when I did that. Still pondering (and open to suggestions).
Haven't been by this at night in a while; I should stop back in and see if it still gets lit, maybe shoot it again.
I'll probably be offline for most of the weekend; I'll be spending all my time in the kitchen getting ready for the crowds that will be arriving for Easter dinner on Sunday. (Translation: be prepared for some food shots!)
Nikon D7000 w/Nikkor 18-200mm @ 40mm, 1/125s @ ƒ/9.5 , ISO100. Lots of tweaking in Aperture.
