Came across this somewhat Iconic California and contrasty image on a morning wlak during my trip to Santa Monica.
Of course what you always think will be great never looks as good what you thought, but with a little extra ummph i like where i ended up.
3 exposure tonemapped HDR via compression method in Photomatix. Felt it needed something more and I had not used Pixel Bender in a while and it seemed like what the Doctor ordered.

This is what was left in my bag after our road trip to the Northwest.
Now that I got that out of my system, I've decided to let the lab go ahead and scan all my rolls when they're developed. The way I figure it, the $ cost per roll is less than the time commitment, frustrations with scan quality, and color editing that I have to do at home. Unless someone can show me an easier, faster way, that's just how it's going to go.
Oh yeah, and I'm going to settle for the medium quality scans...none of this high quality big $$$ scans that no one can tell the difference on the computer screen. I know, I'm such a rebel, right?

Its' been quite some time since I have looked at these pictures but I realized when I was editing them that I never did get around to posting them online. Lauren and I went to the last Rogers Chinese Lantern Festival back in 2008. When we were looking around I had mentioned to Lauren that I had been to the previous two Festivals that had been held at Ontario Place. I never got a chance to get back out to another one as after this one was held the Roger's Company decided that the Festival had run its course and there would be no further ones. Here are the images that I took at the festival, even though they are being posted several years later.
